Letter to the next generation: thriving in the Startup World I insist this is not just a job application guide.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon a question: “What do you wish you had known about professional life before starting?” 🤔 It hit me, especially looking back on a career path that hasn't been "classic" writing, entrepreneurship, teaching. But there are lessons I wish someone had whispered to me before I jumped in.

For you, who are ready to dive into the world of work, especially in a dynamic startup environment like CityZeen, here is what I want to tell you. This is how you make the difference and what it means to work on a mission like Build Wealth, Heal Earth.

The Startup Difference: Skills for CityZeen

Working at a mission-driven startup requires more than just a skillset; it demands a specific mindset. To join the CityZeen team and truly contribute, you must have:

A Choose Passion over Projection  i will call her as a nickname "the coherence driver":

The skill: Mission Alignment & Grit. Titles fade, but consistency in your steps reinforces everything. At CityZeen, you must genuinely believe in regenerative real estate and our dual mandate. Choose the work that fuels you, not just the one that looks good on paper. 

We seek people with deep-seated purpose.

Sense of Purpose is a compass, not a destination will call it the autonomy builder:

The skill: Self-Direction & Diplomatic Boundary Setting. Purpose isn't handed to you in a job title; it's how you understand what you do and where you are going. Commit wholeheartedly to your tasks, but set limits with diplomacy. That's how you build your autonomy and protect your energy in a fast-paced environment.

Please, explore, test, fail i would suggest in a "small " level but never sacrifice, keep remember noone have enough money on the bank to pay one hour of your life  this is the resilience mindset:

The skill: adaptability & prioritization. Dare to change and to fail. A long-term contract isn't synonymous with happiness, and it's okay to rethink your path. However, never sacrifice irreplaceable moments for work. A wedding, a final farewell, or a family milestone is worth more than any deadline. 

We need team members who are resilient, not burnt out.

Embrace the temporary and the untraditional as the resourcefulness trait:

The skill: Resourcefulness & humility. Don't be ashamed of temporary or side jobs. It’s often those roles that sustain you and teach you the most practical skills. In a startup, you wear many hats, that resourcefulness is vital.

Nothing is worth your health as  the sustainable contributor:

The skill: Wellness & Sustainable pace. There will be days when you can't leave exactly at 5:01 PM, but no task is worth risking your well-being. Your health is your greatest asset. Only a healthy team can sustain the long-term mission of healing the earth.

Above all... Dare! The vitality engine:

The skill: Proactive Innovation. Everything can be invented, regardless of your background. Daring isn't insolence; it's vitality. In a startup, you aren't following a handbook; you are writing it. 

We want people who see problems as opportunities to invent a solution.

A special note for the women I meet, the mothers I talk to:

I'm calling this out because it's real I a have been a mother and now a grand ma "vovo" too many incredible women I've interviewed hesitate or say "no" because they have young children. After a long process, we see how great they are, and then they hold back. This is a wake-up call. Not one single man I interview says, "I can't, i have young children." and they have children too, ladies please you are more abble than no one, I really want a "wake up" not to the women but for those who listen to remember they need more trust .

I truly believe women work better after becoming mothers. They know how to get things done in less time. They are hyper-efficient. That is exactly what we want at CityZeen: to enjoy life and work better. We need that efficiency. We need that perspective. Don't let an old expectation stop you from building a new world with us.
