Meaningful

El club  más sostenible de América Latina

Hi,

In a world overflowing with products, experiences, and promises, we often face a simple but profound question: What are we truly offering? Is it something meaningful, rooted in authenticity and care, or just a “jettable gift” a throwaway gesture that lacks depth and connection?

The Lesson from Mr. Cojean

I once heard Mr. Cojean explain how important it is to talk about our product and how it is made. His words struck me: if we don’t tell the story, people may end up buying Eiffel Towers made in China instead of the ones crafted here in Paris.

The point was clear: education matters. When buyers understand who is involved, how something is created, and why it carries value, they connect with the product on a deeper level. It stops being just an object; or a simple price, it becomes a story, a piece of culture, a bridge between maker and receiver.

Gratitude for Fragonard

I remain forever grateful for the time I worked at Fragonard. That experience taught me the importance of heritage, craftsmanship, and storytelling. Coming from the Middle East, I had to challenge my purpose whether to seek better pay or to stop traveling so much, as I was a mother who needed to be with her family.

In those moments, I realized that the true gift is not the product itself, but the meaning behind it. A perfume, for example, is not just a fragrance; it is memory, artistry, and human connection bottled into something tangible.

Why education is essential

Educating people about what they are buying is not just marketing; it is respect. It honors the work of those who create, and it empowers the buyer to make conscious choices. Without education, products risk becoming “jettable gifts,” consumed and forgotten. With education, they become meaningful offerings that carry stories across generations.

Education builds trust. Buyers understand the value and effort behind what they receive.

Education preserves culture. It ensures traditions and craftsmanship are not lost in a sea of mass production.

Education empowers choice. People can decide whether they want something authentic or something disposable.

A Call to Offer Meaning

As professionals, creators, and connectors, we must ask ourselves: are we offering something that will last, something that will inspire, something that will educate? Or are we simply handing out “jettable gifts” that vanish without impact?

The difference lies in whether we take the time to tell the story, to explain the process, and to honor the people behind the work. That is the true offering, one that is meaningful, lasting, and deeply human.
